I believe that the foundation of counseling is in the therapeutic relationship. I aim to provide a secure and respectful space free of judgment for you to share your story and make the meaningful change that you want and hope for. I earn your trust in relationship with you and invite you into deeper places as we work together.
My approach is experiential, trauma-informed, and holistic, meaning that we will address the entirety of you, not just the problem or issue for which you are seeking counseling. We will work together to help you learn ways to become an agent of change in your own life.
I am a somatically trained therapist who works with individuals that are looking to shift out of old protective patterns that no longer serve them (that used to really help them survive in the past!) and into their truth and authenticity in order to live a more present centered life. I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an attachment based and humanistic approach to psychotherapy utilized with couples and individuals in order to create deeper connections with self and those they are in relationship with. I believe that maintaining a positive regard for the client is primary, and I use curiosity about my client’s values, hopes, and dreams as a foundation for exploration and change.
I am dedicated to the necessary and continuous work of cultural humility. I live and work from an anti-racist, anti-oppression, social justice framework. I am actively working towards education and awareness of my own biases and blindspots and how that might show up in our work together. I always encourage and appreciate feedback if you feel disrespected, dismissed, or unseen and I am committed to doing my best to meet you with openness in order to work towards repair and staying engaged in our therapeutic process.
I also utilize adventure-based therapy and ecotherapy practices with individuals, facilitating experiential activities as a means for fostering meaningful change.
